we are mature age travelers 60+ and found that the www ads did not quite reveal the situation as we found it... perhaps all it takes is that the proprietor leaves a more prominent notemessage for arriving travelers on how to get hold of him and also, which one of the buildings is the actual hostel for traveling visitors... (not the smoked out hostel for foreign workers) nonetheless, very clean and we all had a good laugh... sleeping with one eye open :-)

THis is a really good place to stay, when you want to visit Glendalough or the Wicklow Mountains. THe kitchen facilities are great and our room had a great view over the Mountains. THe hostel was situated right in the middle of the town Rathdrum and that little town had just everything you need: a supermarket, some pubs, ... The only complaint would be the matrasses. But that's about it. Great hostel!
