It is a little like visiting your grandma (depends on you if that is bad or good). Nice ryokan, rooms very spacious..

Excellent stay. Traditional room with futon. Knowing some Japanese would be a definite advantage but they are very accommodating even if you don`t speak Japanese.

lady owner can somtimes be very very unpredictable, expect initial warm welcome then sudden cold face, along with the frustration and invasive attitude from owner. emphasing on the good location, 5 minutes walk from main exit of kyoto train station, nearby local restaurants are a bonus. if your are stranded, Chita is adequate is last minute place to sleep.
