They should clean their bathrooms and toilets more often! At least in the part of the hostel we were in, that was the problem.

Diamond Diggers Rocks! i have stayed in many hostels throughout the world but this place has to be my favorite so far! the staff are really welcoming and friendly and have sorted out my whole trip around SA! I recommend the Soweto tour it was a great intro into the country and the tour guide mandla really knows his stuff. The hostel itself is clean and has a homely feel and they also cook meals in the evening for only R50 which is a bonus!

Very disappionting. Rooms were totally unsecure, no lockers.
Would advise against getting the Braii, pitiful amount of food for 65Rand.

It was free pickup service from the airport and the staff we met when we did an earlier checkout than we booked, were nice and easy-going. The rest is a sad story. Dirty toilet and kitchen facilities, no water, poorly furnished rooms and the worst thing was a big argument and a fight waking us up in the middle of the night.It was the dormitory neighbors that seemed to have made the place their home, without respect for others.

I had a good time in DDBP. Just some little notes: The shuttle takes you everywhere, but you have to pay. And I haven't seen any pricelist anywhere, so make sure you ask for the price before you go. The pool was dirty and impossible to use. And they don't cook anymore... But the staff and the place itself was good fun!

a safe suburb of Jo'burg where you can walk down to the supermarket without fear. Great views overlooking the city. Owner very friendly. Great kitchen. Everything clean. Some of the furniture could do with an upgrade but that is the only complaint. Very friendly Labrador dog a bonus!
