Location is good but no name sign anywhere on ground floor of the building. Contrary to description in HostelWorld, no InternetWifi access available! We need to visit 5 HRK 15 minute Internet cafe instead. No luggage deposit after check-out (usually expected from hostels). We used the luggage deposit near post office and train station for HRK 15 for each luggage. These added extra cost to staying here.

I would not recommend this place. I booked 6 months ahead, then phone-checked a day before, but on arrival 'dad?' not Ella, met us 'by accident' in the sqare to tell us his daughter had stuffed up, and he swore. Said he didnt know of our booking, and would have to share a bathroom. No problem sharing but we believe he DID know, and gave the room to someone staying longer. We did not like his attitude, so found another place. Not sure if we have now also been charged a night for this!

When we arrived we were advised that the room rate had changed and was more expensive than what we had booked for online. Would not honor the price we had booked at, but did offer our deposit back if we wanted to leave. As its within the palace walls it was very central however there are a lot of bars close by and was extremely noisy until about 4am!! Also no fan or aircon was available in our room and even though it looked clean we found bugs on the bed under the pillows.

We arrived and we realized they didnt had a room for us, although we made a reservation in advance. Instead, they gave us an apartment, great apartment but not in a great location.

We were actually going to go to find another room even after paying them because of the standard of the room. Luckily we got our money back because the door couldn't lock and we couldn't stay there.

I've stayed in quiet a few hostels and guesthouses, but this definitely takes the price as the most shabbiest ever. The walls were falling apart, the curtains were falling down, the sheets were full of hair from previous guests. You didn't even have a regular door to the bathroom, just a dirty curtain hanging on a stick to shield yourself. I won't recommend this guesthouse to anyone, I'd rather sleep on the beach. And did I mention they charge you in advance?
