This hostel is comfortable and clean, not so close to downtown but the metro is just around the corner, so not a problem. Free breakfast is awesome and free international calls a definite bonus. However, read ALL the conditions when you book as there were several discrepancies with the fees when I arrived, and the same thing happened to a few other guests i spoke to. Best to confirm the total rate you will pay with the hostel before you arrive.

Overall an enjoyable experience! Jonathan is a compassionate, conscientious host, and the quirky ambience of the place suited me to a tee!

The room we booked was not available. So instead of a private room with bathroom, we ended up in a 6-person mixed dorm. The owner didn\'t want to give us a fair price for the trouble. During the discussion about the price, where he had lousy arguments as \"I do not guarantee rooms on the website\", the owner called me a bitch, and we left. Friends of us also had troubles. The weekend they showed up, there were 22 overbookings...

Nice hostel; owner was accommodating and wanted to make sure that we had a good time. He was generous; gave us a ride to Mont Royal and offered to shuttle us to the bus station for the trip back. Rock band at the hostel made for a fun way to relax after walking around all day! I recommend this place.

Nice location and many great features for the cheap price. However, the listing on the website was wrong. The "private" room did not lock and was open to another room. There was no private bathroom. There was no security at all, really. The door to the hostel was open 24 hours and anyone could walk in. The employee was not exactly friendly and was not quite bilingual. Still not bad for the price, though. Just not as wonderful as it sounds online.
