Wonderful hostel with a great atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone. A few downsides (such as the TV room and the smell), but too many other positives.

a simply excellent hostel, superb facilities, friendly staff, lovely rooms and a multitude of thoughtful amienities...if you have to be in Greymouth stay here.

Very clean rooms, great kitchen area and friendly staff. Also free rental of kayaks and bikes from owner. A really well run hostel and i would absolutly reccommend it.

best hostel i have ever stayed it! the themed rooms are fabulous and the kitchen is so clean and well equiped! we loved the free bikes and kayaks and the manager was lovely and happy to help with anything you needed! definately one i shall recommened to all!

so far the best hostel i stayed in. It's a bit far away from the town centre but it defenently worths that 20 mins walk.
Free mountain bike for use, very clean and bright design as well. Also the kitchen is very well equiped!

After staying in Base in cathedral square, i was really glad i stayed here for the xtra 2 nights. It has a really Home feel to it and the place is really tidy. The girl on reception-German i think was v. nice and v. helpful. Would def stay here again. Hostel is approx 10 min. walk to the square but its a nice walk and your a backpacker so this should be no problem for you:-)
