Quiet, clean and very centrally located within walking distance of Damascus gate. Helpful, courteous staff who were lovely when one of our party became very sick. Great view of the Dome of the Rock. Lots of pilgrims and tourists of all faiths. But remember the strict Islamic house rules- unmarried couples might prefer to stay elsewhere.

We had a wonderful stay at Hashimi Hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They assisted with arranging day trips and transportation out of town, recommended great places to eat, and were so sweet that we feel like we have found a new home in Jerusalem, and new friends. We look forward to our next visit in this beautiful little hotel.

It was a very nice and clean hostel, especially for being right in the heart of the old city. It felt like we were in the center of a tremendous amount of history. They had problems with the electricity going out almost every night, but did fix it quickly each time. We were not told that breakfast was not included until we were billed, but they did take the cost off the bill after some discussion. Great views of the dome of the rock.

Overall staying at the Hashimi hotel was a good experience. It's basic but has everything you need. The manager, Salah is really helpful and friendly too. He helped arrange a day trip for us to visit the holy sites in Bethlehem, Hebron and Jericho....my one complaint would be that they don't currently accept credit cards so you need to pay the balance in cash.....overall though, I highly recommend this hotel!

Didn't end up staying there as overbooked. Staff very apologetic re communication gap btn online and other bookings. Staff arranged for me to sleep at another hostel, welcoming me to use El Hashimi's other facilities, including complimentary breakfast. By 3rd night I found another hostel of closer quality and lower price. Appreciate friendliness and respect of staff in efforts to rectify oversight.

Saleh at the front desk was a sweet, sweet man. He earnestly addressed our concerns promptly despite juggling the reconstruction of part of his hotel and managing it full time while we were there.
