Wonderful Hostel right on the beach!!! And great restaurant in the basement! It is just a little bit far from downtown... but it doesn't matter if you want to relax and enjoy!

i thought the bathrooms could do with a makeover?

Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms very clean but sleeping dorm not so much. In house cafeteria has good food :)

The front desk staff repeatedly split us into different rooms - it seems the way they assign rooms is totally random. The kitchen staff, however, are very friendly and a credit to the hostel. The location next to the beach is incredible! It could be safer - there are no locks to the outside doors or the dorms - but the big lockers in the room are good. I would stay there just for the location, but more could definitely be done to improve the hostel itself.

I stayed at Jericho Beach before moving onto UBC campus, so in terms of a place to stay while your waiting to settle more permanently it wasn't great, 24 ppl per dorm was a bit much. As a backpacker it may have been a different experience. The location is good for Kitsilano and UBC and Jericho Beach is beautiful. The staff weren't particularly helpful but they weren't rude either.

This hostel is more than survivable but really it's in the bottom half of all the hostels that I have stayed in. One of the male staff was really grumpy all the time. The kitchen is fine but there were some flies in the area. The rooms were pretty quiet and the dorm beds were comfortable. Each bed was assigned a full body sized locker which was really nice but the dorms did not lock! Also the showers and bathrooms were not very nice from my point of view....funky smell. Nice

There is a nice beach just 3-5 minutes walk from the hostel, however it is pretty far to walk to take a bus to town. Room and bed was average for me. Bathroom was not so clean and some are broken. I have booked from Hostelworld about 3-4 weeks before my arrival but there was no my name on the list at the hostel.

I loved the location of the Jericho Beach HI. For some people it may be a little to far from downtown but it hardly bothered me. The hostel was clean and I always felt very secure and safe in the hostel. All in all I had a very enjoyable experience there.
