One downside to this hostel was that there were no ensuites, so since most of the rooms were upstairs, you had to go outside (since the stairs are outside), go downstairs through the common area to have a shower and wash your face. There were limited coin lockers in our room so not everyone had lockers. Otherwise it was an alright place to stay for a couple of days in Kyoto. I liked how the curtains gave privacy even in a 10+ bed dorm. Close to Nijo castle and about 10-15 min walk to Nijo JR sta...More

The staff were really helpful. The location was close to a bus stops which took you directly to Kyoto Railway Station in 15mins. The bunk beds were futon style, meaning the bottom bed was on the ground. You had two thin futon matresses which were fine for a few nights. The heating was great and could be controlled in each room. There was plenty of space in the room and the bathroom was compact but functional. Overall I would stay there again considreing how cheap it was.

It's just your average hostel, but it is quite close to a lot of the main attractions in Kyoto. Best of all--they have bikes you can rent for 500 yen! I rented a bike for the day and it was an excellent way to get out and look around the city. The down side to this hostel was that their showers hadn't been cleaned in a while and they didn't have a printer. Still, you pay for what you get. This place is great for a couple days.

Classic location just minutes from Nijo castle. The staff were also very kind and helpful. Walking up and down the outside stairs to shower was liberating and is one of Kyotos "must do" activities. We had a marvelous stay, ta x

Was a good hostel for what I was looking for. Not the best I've stayed in, but if there are no other options a good one to stay at. Pretty cheap too, especially if you get the long stay deal
