gr8 location.i stay ther evry newyears for 2 years.yu cant find a better hostle for the money or location.rite cross from american zoetrope studios clubs,book stores and northbeach is steps away.wifi reddy,clean rooms,friendly staff,well lit and secure.i cant say enuff...no REELY just splendid.thanx guys.

Excellent location between north beach and China town, although I doubt the hotel would be good for sinle travllers.

Make sure you don't get a room by the street because it's really loud. Not a place to meet people or socialize, just sleep. Also, bring sandals for the showers because there is one shower for about 20 rooms.

Really nice hostel. Although we didn't have an ensuite, there was a sink in the room and there were numerous bathrooms on every floor, which were all kept spotlessly clean. The location was pretty good, about 20-30 mins walk to North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf. Would definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed the location, I was a short walk away from chinatown and little italy and the beatnick side of town. Also, my experience was more like a very inexpensive hotel than a hostel so I didn't meet a lot of people over breakfast but it was nice to have a very nice private room.

Hotel is really great (for the money you pay, surely). They were very kind to me lending me their personal umbrella, ordering shuttles - all kinds of things. Rooms was small, but very cosy with everything in it, including unexpected microwave and fridge. Certainly, nice.

DON'T STAY THERE unless you must! I heard knocking, it was THREE (!) cops staking out the opposite room. They motioned me silently to go downstairs or back in my room. They were there 30 mins+. Didn't get their guy either The clerk said "This doesn't happen as often as it used to." I checked out immediately at 10pm! I did get most of my booking back, nice people. But it's not safe and there are no window grills on the first floor.
