The light in the room and in the common room was poor, making it difficult to read. Although the location was great the price was much to high for the given accomodation, even for during Hogmany.

Clean sheets, but unvaccumed carpets. Construction materials in toilets and showers. Bit dusty. Lots of stairs.

This hostel needs a system to regulate noise. We went to bed early Friday night having to get up early on the Saturday. We were kept awake from around 1:30am to 6:30am on saturday morning which is unacceptable for any accommodation. It looks like the long term people staying here pretty much have taken over the hostel which makes it a poor place to stay for someone on a short stay. Would not recommend this hostel to anyone.

It smelt, no lock on room doors. Very loud in the room at night. We didnt really feel welcome. Over priced, shower had no pressure. STAY SOME WHERE ELSE, like the Castle rock for half the price and get a lot better quality.

Unfortunately the showers on our floor weren't working when we were there, and it is a long walk to the hostel - 75 odd stairs just to the reception, and then another winding walk to the room. Fine for one night and just to sleep at, but nothing more.
