I stayed in Taaroa Lodge for couple of days in November 2009 and I really liked it. Just on the beach and even if it is kind of far from the Papeete and Airport, it's an excellent place to stay, relax at the beach, do some kayaking, snorkelling... Ralfh - the owner - is a great person, always smiling and ready to help and answer your questions. I can recomend Taaroa lodge for anybody who needs to stay in a dormitory for couple of nights or in bungalows. I definetely enjoyed it!

Taaroa Lodge is a lovely place to stay! It's right on the beach front, and has easy access to the buses on the main road. Ralph and Dianne are extremely helpful and always suggest things for you to do around the island. I will definately be back at some point!!

this hostel is amazing... its located right on the water. there is a public beack 200 m from this hostel. Ralph the owner is an amazing guy!
things to know about this. bring a mosquito net as its open air and ear plugs (wildlife). also know that the bus goes right there from papeete for like 200 francs. but the bus only runs 7-430 so if you dont get this its usually 3000 francs each way.

The owner Ralph is the friendliest guy you'll ever meet. He is also very knowledgeable about all aspects of activities in Tahiti.
Be aware, that an extra 5% is added to the accommodation cost to cover taxes; this should be explained at the time of booking!
