This was the first time we had stayed at a hostel and we had our two children with us (age 8 and 10) and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the excellent dinners.

It's a nice lace to stay close to the historic centre but the structure of the building means that it can be very noisy - not for those looking for quiet or those who go to bed early! The use of volunteers to run the place means that getting information on things depends on how long the volunteer has been there.

Despite having made an advance reservation online using HostelWorld, upon arrival the room we had reserved was occupied. We were offered a bed in a dormitory instead of a private room with two beds. Upon our insistence, a private room was located. The room was simple and clean, but the bathroom smelled terrible and the hot water did not work. It also only had one bed, instead of two. Our room was on the lowest level, which was very inconvenient to get to.
