Solar Dos Marcos in Bemposta

The Solar dos Marcos farm home is a 18th century building located in Bemposta, a village not far from the Spanish border. Surrounded by the Arribes del Duero Natural Park, the venue is perfect for those who seek relax and practise contact with nature activities. On-site facilities include an Internet Point, garden, swimming pool, laundry service, reception staffed from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., 24-hour room service, an entertainment program, a meeting room for up to 30 people and banquet services for a maximum of 120 people on request, a restaurant and a bar. For the most spiritual guests, a private chapel honouring Holy Mary is located on the farm home grounds.

Solar dos Marcos Inn is a historic palace that has been reconstructed from an old episcopal residence (18th century), located in the village of Bemposta, where D. Manuel Martins Manso, Bishop of Guarda, was born in and lived in. The Bishop Martins-Manso will have added the chapel to the original building, in honour of Holy Mary, in the second half of 18th century.Solar dos Marcos is a classified 4-star inn with 8 double rooms (1 room adapted for handicapped persons), 1 suite, 1 extensible restaurant for up to 140 people, 1 bar, 1 multi-functional hall with 40 places, a private covered garage for 13 cars, a private chapel and garden with a swimming pool.The building has been also classified as Excellent Architectural Value by the Portuguese Tourist Board.The house 'Dos Marcos' has an entertainment programme, based on the routes along the Arribes del Duero: Hiking along the banks of the International Duero, Donkey rides, Mountain bike, 4x4 tours, Bird watching, Boat trips, Hiking routes, Taking part in the traditional grape harvest, Participating in the Olive Oil Route of Tras-os-Montes (an accredited olive oil from the Arribes del Duero region).
