We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend Aaran House to anyone visiting Cork. The hostel is essentially a woman's house where many young people come to stay. We had our own room and a really enjoyable trip thanks to the hostel. Great value, though there is a bit of a walk (10 min) to the main area of the city (Patrick St.) and a bit farther to reach the central barclub district, closer to the Beamish brewery.

Tracy was a delightful hostess - helpful and friendly. She discounted my stay because she had to go out of town suddenly for the evening, and let me leave my bags during the day after I'd checked out. The hostel is a little bit of a walk from MacCurtain Street and the City Centre and the main bus terminal, but the train station is handy and I felt very much at home.

The rooms and bathroom were quite small but it's in a pretty good location near the train and coach stations.

This hostel was absolutely fantastic. We really had a good time there. Staff very helpful. The only thing that let us down was the impossibility of hiring a bycicle.
